Frames of the lamp shades are constructed from dogwood, willow or apple branches. These are covered with Japanese, Korean or Thai handmade papers. The paper is coated with diluted white glue to make it taut and to add to its translucency.

The joints are drilled and copper wired, or lashed with waxed linen thread.

They fasten to the ceiling over an existing light with a 3-point system.
